How do you cite a book in Kindle?

Sample citations of reference book (subject encyclopedia) article retrieved from Kindle

Kindles are recent additions to the PBCC libraries. But how does one cite a source from a Kindle? There are no established rules, so let's take a stab at it.

Recently, the latest version of the MLA style manual (7th ed.) was published. There are numerous differences. A reference book is included on our Kindles, but the Kindles could have any book or audio book downloaded. The reference book, The Toni Morrison Encyclopedia, seemed to be a good example to provide a sample citaiton of an aritlce within the encyclopedia. So, we took the article, "Family," and cited it as published in the encyclopedia and available on a Kindle.

We make no claims of the correctness since there are no prior examples found. But we hope the samples will generate discussion and, as is the purpose of any wiki, we come up with a "collaborative" viewpoint about what is correct.

Final note

Kindles (proprietary to Amazon) are such a new addition to libraries, it is difficult to determine the correct citation example. Comments are welcome!
